NAMI Colorado Law Line Offers Free Limited Legal Advice



NAMI Colorado’s Law Line provides free limited legal information and advice to persons contacting NAMI Colorado 

seeking such legal information and advice on issues related to mental health law and issues directly affecting persons 

who have a mental illness and their families and loved ones. The person contacting NAMI Colorado to access the  

Law Line must be a person living with mental illness, or a family member, loved one, or friend of a person living with 

a mental illness. Confidentiality will be maintained throughout the process.

The Law Line consists of volunteer licensed Colorado attorneys who are knowledgeable in the following targeted areas: 


Involuntary Civil Commitment Law
Criminal Cases involving persons living with mental illness
Trust and Estate Law, Special Needs Planning, Guardianships and Conservatorships, Medicaid
Immigration Law
Family Law
Special Education
Employment Law


NOTE:  One of the targeted areas must directly affect a person with mental illness.
